My Body Completely Transformed After Just 4 Weeks, by Following the New Year New You Challenge!!

Here Is How I Did It… And the Results I Achieved in Just 4 Short Weeks!!

I don’t know about you, but I finished 2021 living not my best, most healthy, life. Around the beginning of November, I completely derailed from my healthy eating habits, and was basically just surviving those last 2 months of the year. The stress of the pandemic had worn me down, financial stress, homeschooling stress, life stress, had all taken over my thoughts and life choices. I was not in the best place…

Come January 1st, I had put on some extra weight, and started noticing some of my ongoing health issues getting worse from my poor lifestyle choices. I knew I had to get back on track, and that’s when I came across the New Year New You Challenge hosted by the Ashley Black Fascia Blaster company (you can follow this link to learn more https://bit.ly/37TQMSx). I decided to sign up, and completely focused all my energy, time, and what little finances I had available to me at the time, to being successful at completing the 4 week Challenge. I signed up, submitted my “before” pics, and filled out the initial application to be an official participant. Soon after, I received emails directing me to join the Facebook Groups created specifically for participating in the Challenge. They included a Bodywork group, a Detox group, and a group focused on keeping a positive mindset.

My Plan For Success

I decided to focus mostly on the bodywork and detox aspect of the Challenge, while occasionally taking a glance at the third group page related to keeping a positive, goal-oriented mindset. I blasted every day for those 4 weeks, except for 2 days that I had received a massage that included cupping in my treatment, and 1 day which was my daughter’s 8th birthday. I focused on getting back on track with my healthy eating plan, which includes no sugar, no grains, limited dairy, no coffee, and no alcohol, and I only went off of this eating plan for 1 day for my daughter’s birthday.

The Detox included a pretty lengthy plan that included supplements and freshly made organic lemon water, organic juices, and/or organic freshly made aloe water. I had already been trying to drink organic warm lemon water in the mornings to help with digestive issues, and for the other health benefits, but I was using bottled organic lemon juice. Organic aloe juice was also something I had already been trying to drink daily, but I was also using a previously bottled version. The group leaders in the Detox group urged members to make these beverages fresh each morning, and I have to admit it made a HUGE difference in how effective they actually were for me. This part of the program is something I plan to continue as part of my daily health routine. I also tried freshly made organic cucumber juice for the first time in my life, and it was actually quite tasty and refreshing.

As far as the blasting is concerned, the Challenge included daily recommendations for areas to focus on that day, along with video tutorials and links to related articles. I mostly tried to follow along with the plan, but some days I just chose other areas I felt I needed to focus more time and energy on blasting. The company recommends first heating up the area you intend to blast, then blasting the area, and finish by flushing and icing the area.

The Tools & Routine

  • Face Blaster (https://bit.ly/3JET6el)
  • Original Fascia Blaster (https://bit.ly/3De6ofs)
  • Mini Paddle Blaster (https://bit.ly/3iy3NTM)
  • The Nugget (https://bit.ly/3DoFkdz)
  • Medium Kryomat… This is by far my favorite cold therapy pack I’ve ever used, it’s quite large and stays cold for a very long time. It’s perfect for icing my entire back and thighs (https://bit.ly/3iwjpaF)
  • Cupping Tools (I used this affordable set from Amazon https://amzn.to/3iHCvKL)
  • Blaster Oil & After Blaster Cream (https://bit.ly/3NktN3n)

Most days, I spent roughly 45 minutes from start to finish on my blasting routine. First I applied a heating pad to the area I was planning to blast, or I took a really hot shower to get my body prepared for blasting. Then I applied the Blaster Oil to the area I was going to blast, and I started off by using the Face Blaster tool. After a few minutes, I switched to either the Original Fascia Blaster or the Mini Paddle Blaster, depending on what area I was working on. I bruise very easily, so ended up with some significant bruising a few of the days when I went a bit deeper, and started introducing what the company calls “nuggeting” (which means using the tool called the Nugget to pinpoint specific spots and address the fascia deeper in those spots). I also had just started using the Mini Paddle Blaster for the first time during the Challenge, and I believe it increased my results and made blasting certain areas much easier for me. Cupping was also a big factor in my noticeable improvements from this Challenge, and I added Cupping several times a week, especially along my thighs, and calves, and shins. I finished my routine by applying the After Blaster Cream, which contains arnica to help reduce bruising, and applying the Medium Kryomat to ice the area.

The Halfway Point

After just 2 weeks of participating, I was excited to share my progress pics in the Facebook group pages for the Challenge. Here are my before and after progress pics that I shared, that show very subtle changes taking place at this point. I personally feel that taking lots of before and after pics, and comparing them side by side, is extremely beneficial for keeping you motivated. It’s easy not to notice subtle changes when you look in the mirror, but it’s hard to ignore them when looking at them in your progress pics. I didn’t expect to see much of a significant change after just 4 weeks, let alone after 2 weeks, but by staying strict with the protocol and consistent, I absolutely made some pretty noticeable improvements.

This helped to keep me motivated, and I finished the Challenge strong. I ended up losing about 6 to 7 lbs, and was quite happy with the changes I ended up accomplishing by the end of the 4 weeks. Sadly, I didn’t think to take any measurements beforehand, but I’m sure if I had I would’ve seen some significant changes in my measurements. However, the final before and after pics I submitted for the Challenge are enough evidence for me to feel confident in sharing my experience and results with all of you.

My Final Results

These were my final results after 4 weeks of fascia blasting daily, sticking with my eating plan, and including the detox drinks that were part of the Detox portion of the Challenge program. I’m so glad I decided to take back control, and return to making healthier lifestyle choices, as well as taking that time every day to practice self-care and fascia blasting. I’m amazed at what a difference 4 weeks can make…

I decided not to submit my final results to be able to be considered in the running for placing as one of the final winners in the Challenge, due to some of the waivers required to be allowed to participate. However, I’m still abundantly glad and grateful that I chose to do it, and that I ended up with such awesome results!!

Please feel free to comment and share your experience with similar lifestyle changes, or with any questions you may have about the Challenge or the tools I used to get these results. We look forward to hearing from you, and hope you found this information beneficial… Maybe now is a good time for you to get back on track, and start your own version of a Challenge focusing on some area of your life that could use a little extra attention. We know you can do it!!

    1. Hi There Donna, thank you for your interest in our post. There are several recommended variations on how to make the lemon water, I came up with my own way to make it. In the Challenge, they just use the juice of the lemon, mixed with a cup of warm water, and drink it first thing in the morning. I actually run an entire organic lemon through a juicer, which makes it a bit bitter, but the rind of a lemon contains so much more nutrients than just the juice from the inside by itself. I mix the lemon juice with filtered water warmed up on the stove top, and drink it before eating or drinking anything else in the morning. Plus, it’s good to wait 30 minutes afterwards, before you eat or drink something else. This really assists digestion and detoxification. The cucumber juice is made by taking 2 whole organic cucumbers, cleaning them thoroughly, and process them through a juicer. There are no other ingredients, just pure cucumber juice. It has lots of health benefits, plus it’s actually pretty refreshing with a hint of sweetness. You should drink it 30 minutes after the lemon water, preferably. Hope this helps!!
